Main Christmas Fayre – Saturday 8th December 2018

The main Young Enterprise Christmas Fayre of 2018 will be held on Saturday 8th December.

The venue is the Belmont Street market, which is the on-street market held in Belmont Street,  Aberdeen.

Arrangements are as follows:

  • The cost of each stall is £20, payable in cash on the day.  A receipt will be issued.
  • The arrangements are likely to be similar to the picture below.  All the Young Enterprise stalls will be together
  • You are allowed to set up from 8:00 am, and trading starts at 9:00 am and runs to  about 3:30 pm (or when it gets dark). 
  • Teams gain access to the market by drop off at the Schoolhill end of Belmont Street, opposite the Aberdeen Art Gallery. This is for drop off only - there is no parking available on Belmont Street (parking is available in the Denburn car park, behind His Majesty's Theatre and the Harriet Street car park above the Bon Accord shopping centre - both charge a fee).
  • Cash prizes will be awarded - Mystery shoppers will be looking for great products, great stalls, great sales and marketing customer engagement – and awarding 10 spot prizes of £25  each – plus judges will be assessing the teams and awarding £50 prizes for Best Product, Best Stall, Best Sales and Marketing, and scoring an overall winner (£200 prize) and runner up (£100 prize). For all prizes teams will receive a prize sheet with instructions to contact the Young Enterprise Treasurer  to get the money transferred to the teams bank account.

First Christmas Fayre – Saturday 17th November 2018

The first Young Enterprise Christmas Fayre of 2018 will be held on Saturday 17th November.

The venue is the Wyness Hall, Jackson Street, Inverurie, AB51 3QB.

Arrangements are as follows:

  • The cost of each stall is £10, payable in cash on the day.  A receipt will be issued.
  • You will be provided with a trestle table and a backboard to set your stall up on.
    • Trestle tables and back boards are being delivered at 1300
    • Trestle tables are 6ft / 1.83 meters x 30 inches / 755 mm – you will have one table
    • You will also have one back board made up of 4 panels each 2.2 meters high and  0.9m wide and connected together in a “zig zag” arrangement.  The Board use Velcro dots to put up paper (we will have a supply there)
    • You should bring everything you need to create your stall based on this equipment
  • You are allowed to set up from 1:00 pm (no earlier as another group is using the hall), and trading starts at 2:00 pm and runs to 4:00 pm.  We then have to clear the hall for 5:00 pm. 
  • Teams gain access at the front of the Hall. This is for drop off only - there is parking available nearby (in the grounds of Inverurie Academy and across the High Street, beside the Banks of Ury Hotel).

Extra (third) Christmas Fayre – Monday 17th December 2018

This is an extra sales opportunity, and is available to a limited number of teams only. 

The venue is the Shell, Altens

Arrangements are as follows:

  • You are allowed to set up from 11:00 am. Trading is from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. You must clear by 1:30 pm.
  • Teams can unload and load their items in Shell's loading area.  We will share more details about this when we get closer to the date.
  • Adults are asked to please bring some sort of photo ID with them for registration.
  • Lunch can be provided if team members would like to rotate taking breaks during the fayre.
